About the SOE Framework

The SOE Software RDMC framework is a toolset enabling rapid development of network deployable, fully automated SOE builds. By using the intuitive Drag-and-Drop script editor, custom deployment scripts can be created in seconds. How can I add applications into my SOE?

The framework installer can use virtually any type of automated application packager, protecting your existing investment in packaging. Many modern applications can be easily deployed without the need for packaging, and graphical configuration tools make importing and configuring applications a breeze. Through the SOE Software web portal pre-packaged applications can be selected, customised, and automatically added into your available applications.

How customisable is the SOE Framework?

In simple mode, changes can be easily made by importing background images, default user profiles, and by using the script generator to customise your build. For advanced users, the framework will allow complete customisation of the build process, including the ability to add your own scripts into the build process. The included utilities allow for the build process to automatically customise itself based on hardware type, OS version, and a range of other parameters.

What hardware is supported?

The framework comes with a generic driver set which will be suitable for most types of common hardware currently available. In addition, SOE Software can provide driver sets with specific support for a range of models from Tier-1 vendors such as HP, IBM, Toshiba, and DELL. Customers under maintenance will receive regular driver pack updates, with support for new hardware types as they become available.

What are the prerequisites?

Version 2.0 of the SOE framework requires a Windows 2000 or higher server with RIS or WDS installed. At the time of release, the framework supports SOEs based on Windows XP, with support for Windows-XP 64 bit, as well as Vista and Vista-64 expected shortly after.
